St. John's Church is a community of Christians on a journey of faith. Our church is a part of the wider family of Christian churches called the United Church of Christ.

We come from many backgrounds and traditions. Our congregation was created in 1887 out of the Evangelical and Reformed Church. St. John’s has served the Evanston Community since 1958 as its first United Church of Christ (UCC) church, formed by the union of the Evangelical and Reformed churches united with the Congregational Christian Church to form the UCC.

St. John’s church encourages you to find yourself welcomed here as a child of God. We are a loving, diverse congregation that welcomes all regardless of age, race, nationality, ethnicity, culture, sex, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, economic condition, physical or mental ability. We welcome every member of God's creation. Here, all people are valued as beloved children of God.

Come find out what makes us special. We are looking to grow our active membership and invite you to find out how God is still speaking to you. May God find you where you are and welcome you home to St. John's UCC.

Come to be welcomed as a child of God.
